MEL Media is a filmmaking and photography company centred around capturing and documenting. Our team is made up of Mdumisi, who covers the filmmaking aspect and Mandisa who does photography. Every now and then we hop over to each other’s turfs.
We started working together informally in 2010 but upon realising our passion for filmmaking and photography, we decided to take it a step further and officially create MEL Media in 2014.
We love everything visual and artistic. We spend a great deal of time interacting with people from different places and from different spectrums of life. We believe that everything has a story and we thrill ourselves in bringing that story to life through the medium of film and photography.
Although we’re based in Durban, we’re always excited over the opportunity to travel and capture your event or whichever lifestyle session you’d like us to do for you wherever you are. Whatever you want documented, we give it just as much passion and energy as you would and we make sure we turn your everyday moment into a lifetime memory.

MDUMISI NXELE
A cinematographer and editor who has a passion for filmmaking. He’s got a very unique cinematic eye and an extremely sharp ear for great sound. He’s definitely the guy you can trust to give you the most amazing visual experience.
MANDISA BUTHELEZI
A photographer, editor and aspiring filmmaker, Mandisa’s main passion lies in documenting and adding a cinematic element to her work. Her versatility enhances her approach of visual life through the lens.
